WEBB PIERCE: ARTISTS TRIBUTE ALBUM IN STORES NOW
(Undated-AP) -- The late Webb Pierce is about to become known to
a whole new generation, for more than his guitar-shaped swimming
pool. The country crooner from the early 50's is paid tribute by a
new album in stores now, "Caught in the Webb--A Tribute to the
Legendary Webb Pierce." Singer Gail Davies produced the tribute to
Pierce and his music, with 21 tracks done by Dwight Yoakam, Emmylou
Harris, Willie Nelson, George Jones, and others.
Pierce is probably best known for the song, "In the Jailhouse
Now."
The Los Angeles Times quotes Davies as saying proceeds from the
album will go to the Minnie Pearl Cancer Research Foundation and
the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.

Man, is this CD ever fun! There ain't no pop-stars on this tribute to
the
legendary Webb Pierce. This is the real thing with genuine country
artists performing music from the King of 50's Country Music. It was
produced by Gail Davies and contains 21 of Webb's greatest hits. You will
hear the best honky-tonk, western swing, two-steppin shuffles, high
lonesome, and hillbilly music.
All the musicians, as well as the artists, producer and others involved
in the making of this album, have donated their time and talents to pay
honor to the music of Webb Pierce and proceeds will benefit the Minnie
Pearl Cancer Foundation http://www.minniepearl.org/ and the Country Music
Hall of Fame Museum http://www.halloffame.org/ .
Each of the artists have recorded their selection in their own style,
but you can hear the respect and homage they pay to Webb Pierce in every
note. This CD features: Dale Watson, The Jordanaires, Mandy Barnett,
Charley Pride, Rosie Flores, George Jones, Dwight Yoakam, Emmylou Harris,
